FTTH Ventures was formed to help develop new and existing FTTH projects as well as bringing different finance options to the table.
We act as a one-stop shop, capable of building the strategy and business models through to rollout and operation. We are at the cutting edge of financing for fibre projects and can bring different funding options to your project.
We are constantly looking at new projects and sources of finance.
Our team is unique as we have planned/implemented millions of homes passed across four continents as well as being founders/founding investors in a number of successful FTTH and open access operations.
We have helped FTTH operations grow to 75 times returns on first round investments and have strong reputations globally in the FTTH community.
The core team have been working together for nearly 20 years, finding and delivering the most challenging projects across FTTH and NGA.
We are passionate about FTTH and have been supporting the FTTH industry for many years. We created a landmark report about the financing of FTTH projects for the FTTH Council Europe in 2012. Many of the financing approaches we described are now becoming reality and we recognised that the perfect storm of opportunities, financing approaches and our experience in the industry create a unique situation for us and our team.
The team has worked on a number of signature FTTH projects around the World including:
the World’s first incumbent offering gigabit to all their customers
the first example of ‘renewables’ project finance for FTTH outside PFI approaches
electricity network based FTTH projects in Europe, Africa and the Middle East
We have also been involved in a number of FTTH start-ups as founders/owners, including operations that became top five in the World for broadband service value (Sweden), number one for open access FTTH (Sweden) and a global FTTH operation that runs the active layer in projects to provide truly open access FTTH to all.
The pipeline of projects we have created and/or are currently developing includes 14 FTTH projects across four continents.
Our network is extensive and we are working hard to pair projects and finance together across the globe.
Richard’s strengths are business strategy, commercial strategy and finding ways to create businesses against the odds. He uses this to help create new fibre ventures even under the toughest financial situations.
